Porky is a lovely lad who is looking for a knowledgeable, understanding home. He has plenty of typical Dachshund character and is searching for owners who are familiar with the breed and experienced with resource guarding management. He is a loyal boy who will make a deeply affectionate companion once a foundation of trust is established.
Tennis balls are Porky’s ultimate passion in life, and while he can be protective of his favourite toys, he loves playing fetch and will happily roll the ball back to you to trade for another throw. He is also protective of his food, so he simply needs a quiet, undisturbed space where he can enjoy his meals and treats in peace.
Out and about, Porky can feel a little unsure around other dogs at first, though he soon warms up with gentle encouragement. He can also be uncomfortable and vocal when meeting new people, so he will benefit greatly from a calm, quiet home environment where visitors are minimal and he is given the time and space to build his confidence at his own speed.
For owners with the right breed experience and a patient approach, Porky promises to be a wonderfully devoted and rewarding friend.
